Double for Burkan Al Asayl and Frynchman.

(Published: Dec 26, 2010) Philippe Barbe and Kieren Fallon were in double form in the main Purebred Arabian races on the night, both over 1600m and restricted to three-year-olds. Frynchman won the Listed Abu Dhabi Championship and there was a distinct feeling of déjà vu afterwards as he beat Aqmaar and Masharref, just as he had when the trio made their debuts back in November.
He had to work a lot harder on this occasion though and only led close home to the delight of trainer Barbe who said: "He is a nice young horse and hopefully will keep on improving with experience. Kieren has timed it perfectly." Earlier Fallon had made all on Burkan Al Asayl in the Abu Dhabi Colts' Classic and said: "He did that very nicely and I was happy throughout; he broke well and took me to the front easily. I never thought we were going to be caught even when a couple tried to challenge us. It was a nice effort while Frynchman quickened well close home and when it mattered. They are two nice youngsters."
